George Town, Grand Cayman 🇰🇾

Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, nestled within the Caribbean Sea. It is approximately 75 miles (121 km) southwest of Little Cayman and 90 miles (145 km) southwest of Cayman Brac.

Grand Cayman includes five districts: Bodden Town, East End, George Town (the capital), North Side, and West Bay. Notable attractions include Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City, vibrant coral reefs, and the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park.

During our stopover, we booked an encounter with the dolphins at Dolphin Discovery. This was definitely a memorable experience. Taking videos and photos were not allowed during the encounter. There were in-house photographers, but be wary that if you want to buy these photos, prepare to fork out a fortune! In tandem with our ticket, this also allowed us to visit the nearby Cayman Turtle Centre. The Cayman Turtle Centre in Grand Cayman is a remarkable wildlife conservation experience. Visit majestic Green sea turtles and even swim alongside playful young turtles. You might even witness tiny hatchlings emerging from their nests! The innovative conservation efforts here have reduced poaching and increased the number of sea turtles in the wild. For some island fun, take a thrilling ride down the Turtle Twister waterslide. Explore the flying rainbows of the Butterfly House and Free Flight Aviary.

Grand Cayman boasts a variety of plant life, including wild banana orchids, thatch palm trees, mahogany trees, and fruit trees like avocado and mango. Whether you’re interested in natural beauty, water activities, or exploring local culture, Grand Cayman has something for every explorer!
